Before you take any survey…enable cookies!

Posted by Offer Tsuriel on September 30, 2009

How the survey companies protect themselves from fake survey takers. Fake survey taker is an individual who seeks to take the same survey more then once and get paid. The survey company website plants a small piece of code into your web-browser (Like Internet Explore or FireFox) called “Cookie”, and as long as this cookie is stored there you will be unable to take the same survey again. On the other hand, if you prefer to protect your privacy and stay away from Internet viruses you can choose to disable the cookies and none of them will be stored on your browser. However, survey companies does not allow surfers with their cookies disabled, to take their surveys or be credited. So, if your cookies are disabled and you took a survey and did not receive your credit, this is the reason.

All cookies usually expire (delete themselves) after 30 days so your web-browser won’t be exploded with them.

Because of that you can get back to the survey you took 30 days ago and take it again (if it is still promoted), just keep your records for every survey you took and get paid.

Now, after we understood why it is important to enable your cookies I have few simple and quick sollutions for you on how to take surveys, get paid and stay protected at the same time. The most important thing is to get your cookies enabled prior taking any survey, after that you can disable them, if you want to.

After you install this add follow these steps to enble the button: add the button to the toolbar using the Customize Toolbar window (View->Toolbars->Customize…) and drag the button to the location on the toolbar you want it on.
    2. If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer you want to enable automatic cookies handler by following this tutorial: Go to Tools > Options > Privacy > Advanced > select to accept all cookies. If you want to control your cookies, you can download CookieWall free software that will give you more control on your cookies.
